Thelogan
So the big news is a PC release? Cool? I guess it'll come in handy when they inevitably shut down the console servers.
The NZA
not official yet, but hopin'. maybe DLC too? and the mods alone are gonna make me want to jump all over this. FPS fixes making blighttown less hellish please!
IceManML
Uh color me ignorant but was there a game preceding this 1? Cuz I've honestly never heard the hype...
The NZA
arguably better at certain things, and easily found for < $20.
IceManML
Yea I just saw the reviews for both on YouTube... I thought traditional gaming was dead (you know... Die.. Try again.. Die again w out a trap...) ... I'm so happy this game exists! X'( best thing: the online specters n floor notes... That is so friggin cool meng. The NZA
yup, preaching to the choir... but if you're gonna try Demons', this is the year - looks like Atlus is finally taking down the servers around October, so get on it man! IceManML
On my way to gaystop... I mean... The game store. My only question now is can I play dark souls first or is there a story worth following? Ps soul calibur v sucks big stinky chocolate salted ballz. Well besides the actual matches. The NZA
nah, there's a few things here & there but storywise entirely unconnected - however, experience with Souls greatly increases your chances for survival in Demons (and vice-versa). again i'd only put Demons first because it's going offline later this year. The NZA
Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition confirmed for PC, with new bosses too! Looking like August.
Keth
Late to this party (I've been playing beatable games). Gonna give this a go here in a bit.
The NZA
this is highly beatable, but you gotta move slow and learn from it...like it was a game made before tutorials told you everything and devs wanted you to see the ending.
Thelogan
I beat the shit out of Dark Souls. I just died 12,000 times in the process.
Keth
I was just speaking snarkily figuratively. I've just always been an easy mode person, and never had much patience with super hard games is all (there's a thread on this made recently I think, so I'll look it up too). But if the game is rewardingly hard and not just infuriatingly hard like you guys say, then I'll probably enjoy it. Just popped it in so I'll find out soooooooon
Keth
Ok I ain't doin so well. How strong were you guys when you fought that minotaur fuck on the bridge?
Thelogan
Haha! That was my first pile of deaths too. It isn't about strength, it's about strategy. That's pretty much the case for every boss in this game. You can beat it at level 1. This takes the fun out of learning, but I'll throw you one if you want. Kill the dudes at the top of the ladder. Go taunt the boss and get him to chase you up the ladder, then drop down on his head for MASSIVE DAMAGE. Do some fancy footwork to lead him away. Lather, rinse repeat. Keth
Ha I just killed him right after I posted, did that same strategy. He's not the level boss though... is he?
The NZA
Prepare to Die edition info new content New Bosses - Including Artorias of Abyss, Chimera of Tomb, and more PVP Online Matchmaking System - Quick matching for co-op or PVP New Areas – Including Oolacile Tomb, Old Ruins and more New Enemies – Including Abyss Guard, Chained Prisoner and more New NPCs – Including Hawkeye Gough and more New Weapons and Armor – Equip some from the new bosses, enemies, and NPCs On the UK site it says this: But on the US site it says: ...wait...GFWL? these things go nowhere, but you should sign them all the same
Thelogan
GFWL is just another added difficulty. It's within the spirit of the game. That said, I've personally had precisely zero problems with it and I like getting extra achievements, so fuck your petition!
The NZA
steam has all the achievements my heart needs, fuck yo GFWL! i still havent played my copy of Arkham on steam, but just purchasing Viva Pinata was a nightmare - the storefront was so broken, i couldn't access my purchase for weeks. XBL integration shouldn't bother me, but ive been told that if you go to play this while, say, Special K is watching netflix on the xbox, she can get signed out. that's some silly shit right there. Thelogan
First off, we have a separate gamertag AND xbox for Netflix. Is that true? That's pretty fucked up. I can't say for certain if I've ever tried to sign in on both at the same time.
The NZA
several people've told me it's happened to them, i don't think MS though it through when they merged the services. but yeah, you having separate XBL tags for netflix would get around that, however zany. IceManML
Ive learned the meaning of digital masochism after playing this game... Its like I'm reaching for the infra red dot in the sky all day. Im traumatizd, but mysteriously turned on... You sick fux that got platinum trophies on this game...
