Mr. Hakujin Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Seeing that image is all kinds of awesome, but is there a small part of anyone else that's bummed this film won't be actually called "The Infinity GAUNTLET"? Quote
Mr. Hakujin Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Okay. Guess I was the only one being nitpicky about the name. I wonder if Dr. Strange's Eye of Agametto will double as the MCU's "soul gem"? Quote
Visitant Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 99% of me is a screaming child that is happy that my favorite comic story as a kid is coming to life on the big screen. 1% of me is pissed that they miscolored the gems Quote
Keth Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Cap 2/3 directors, Russo Brothers, confirmed for Infinity War! In another batch of leaked Sony e-mails, Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors Joe and Anthony Russo confirmed that they will be directing Avengers: Infinity War Parts I and II, according to Overtice (via Screen Rant, who did the translation). Apparently, as part of the ongoing saga of Sony e-mails about the Spider-Man situation, Joe Russo chimed in with a message to Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal in early November, saying that it was too bad the talks with Marvel had broken down. This Sony leak has been surprisingly informative. Quote

alive she cried Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 (edited) Rumour, but from the usually reliable Dave Gonzalez of Latino Review. If true this will be a series of the biggest shakeups the MCU has ever seen. No exaggeration, potentially HUGE FUCKING SPOILERS It Seems The Deal Is Done - SPIDER-MAN Will Be A Part Of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Here we have some potentially huge SPOILERS for certain movies and characters in the build up to Marvel's 2-part Avengers: Infinity War. There are new details on what fates await Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and, yes, Spider-Man (??). Follow Mark "RorMachine": By Mark "RorMachine" Cassidy - 1/14/2015 Latino Review's Dave Gonzalez has posted his weekly column, and has revealed a LOT of new details about Marvel Studios' upcoming slate of movies. Though Dave is usually on the money, until any of this is official we'll have to take it as a rumor for now -- but if even half the stuff below turns out to be true, the MCU is is for one Hades of a shake up. First off, we better address that headline: According to Dave, the "deal went through" and Spider-Man will indeed be a part of Avengers: Infinity War Part 1. Rumors of Andrew Garfield or Tobey Maguire (seriously?) reprising the role have been put to bed too -- this will be a brand new actor. As if that wasn't a big enough announcement on its own, he also has the details on the films that lead up to that highly anticipated cinematic event. Once more, do not read on unless you are ready for some massive SPOILERS? Okay, so it seems Steve Rogers is gonna kick the bucket at the end of Captain America: Civil War. Word is it's the revelation that Bucky was responsible for Howard Stark's death that triggers the bad blood between Rogers and Tony, and the end result is Crossbones taking out the Star Spangled Avenger. Info on what happens to Iron Man is vague, but it sounds as if he'll wind up in space somehow. In Thor: Ragnarok, lots of Asgardians will die and be resurrected, and the God of Thunder will be confined to a "galactic prison". This takes 3 of the main Avengers out of the picture for Infinity War Part 1, which will focus on a completely new team, along with Spidey of course! The roster is not yet finalized apparently, but some potentials include: Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Black Panther, Dr. Strange, Ant-Man, Wasp, Captain Marvel, Luke Cage, Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jewel/Power Woman, any Guardian of the Galaxy, and any Inhuman. All classic Avengers will be absent from this lineup because the plan is to bring them back forInfinity War Part 2... yes, even the deceased Stevie Rogers. There's some more speculation as to how the likes of Black Panther and Doctor Strange could fit in, so be sure to take a look. Lots to take in here, but let us know what you think in the usual place. And may I just add: HOLY SH*T! Edited January 14, 2015 by alive she cried Quote
Visitant Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Latino review has pretty often been right about this kinda shit. If so, that's one hell of a setup. Quote
alive she cried Posted January 15, 2015 Author Posted January 15, 2015 Seven hours the dream lasted. Spider-Man In AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR? Nope! Sony Reps Dismiss Rumors Are you excited about Spider-Man joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Infinity War? Well, Sony Pictures have now responded to today's reports, dismissing them entirely. Uh, who's looking forward to The Amazing Spider-Man 3 then? Read on for details... By Josh Wilding - 1/14/2015 The possibility of Spider-Man joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe was first reported on last year after the tepic critical and commerical response to The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The "Sony Hack" would reveal that it was something actively being discussed between Marvel Studios and Sony, with talks seemingly breaking down shortly after, though other reports would later claim otherwise. Earlier today, we heard that the deal may be done, with Spidey set to appear in Avengers: Infinity War. Comic Book Resources have since reached out to Sony, and a studio representitive told them that the report is an "old rumor" with "no validity whatsoever." Marvel and Disney have not yet responded. Ultimately, this may mean nothing, but it is odd that they would respond this way. Based on past experience, there's really no way of knowing how to take this as denials have sometimes been proved wrong, and were other times spot on. It's a guessing game! Regardless, we're going to find out one way or the other soon enough, as Sinister Six is still supposed to be coming out in 2016. So, start counting down the days until that pointless movie is released and the sure to be terrible third instalment of The Amazing Spider-Man franchise. Yay? F*** you, Sony. Quote

Keth Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 While the Spidey stuff is BS, everything else there might just happen. I personally would much rather see Wolverine fight with the Avengers. Quote
Mr. Hakujin Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Maybe we can get someone in Pyongyang to change Sony's mind about this whole not letting Spidey be in Avengers 3&4 thing... Quote
The NZA Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Avengers Infinity War 1 & 2 will be retitled, confirm Russo Brothers "Captain America: Civil War" directors Joe and Anthony Russo have now confirmed that they're retitling 2018/2019's "Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and 2," as to not anger fans over releasing the third "Avengers" epic in two parts. "The movies are two very different movies," Joe told Uproxx. When asked how the films will be labelled, Anthony said, "It is misleading." Joe remarked, "The intention is we will change it, we just haven’t come up with the titles yet. But, yes, we will change it. And, yes, that is a scoop: we will retitle them." assuming it's all still Thanos, the Gauntlet/War one seems obvious, but my favorite online so far has been Avengers: Onslaught/Avengers: Heroes Reborn, for pure nostalgia.
