Reverend Jax
Make the first song The End by the Doors, just like in Apocalypse Now. Now that's romantic!

the division of joy
The u2 song was there out of the sheer irony of having to dance to a song where bono goes "but i still haven't found, what im looking for" at your wedding reception... La Lindsay
more modern: wild horses by sundays (a remake of the rolling stones one, but i like the sundays version better) love song by the cure dig by incubus older: unchained melody is always an oldie but goodie at last by etta james if you want to go really old school
Signal08
Well being that the first dance is the father and the bride, I'd say 'Daddy's Little Girl' if you are looking for a piano type song, I'd say go with Jim Brickman found here at http://www.jimbrickman.com/ or just about every other song by Five for Fighting found here at http://www.fiveforfighting.com/

Signal08
I typed it out wrong sorry, the first dance with the father and the bride, I'd suggest daddys little girl. Not the first dance itself. The father and the bride dance second. go here for some idea'rs http://www.wedalert.com/songs/firstdance/index.asp or if you want to surprise people... http://www.glumbert.com/media/weddingfirstdance ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Traditionally, it's the bride and groom that have the first dance. Towards the end of the song the band/DJ will invite the rest of the bridal party to join in. Once that song is over the bride stays on the dance floor and everyone else sits down, then her dad will come forward and they do the father/daughter dance. When that dance is done it's time for the groom to dance with his mother. And sometimes after cutting the cake the bride and groom will have the dance floor to themselves if they choose for a second dance.
