  1. I actually caught the one and only airing of that Generation X live-action movie. Still got my Wizard issue hyping the hell out of that thing. If they actually do a tv series - I'm still dying to see a live-action version of the original roster...together and kicking ass. I gotta feeling they'll just try to replicate the 90s cartoon. Either way, I just hope it ain't another superhero soap opera tv show. Eh, it'll probably be just that, now that I think about it. Teen angst.
  2. Jeez - did no one pick this up? I got it as soon as it was out. I was so damn excited to have it - when I got home, I took a picture of my copy and sent it to Panch! LOL! I didn't buy the "Ultimate Edition" on bluray when it came out 'cuz I knew this thing was coming out. This was a looong wait. It comes with the theatrical version and the Rogue Cut - which has a whole new commentary. A lot of new stuff and altered / rearranged scenes - I'd say more meat was added to the movie, but it's the same story.
  3. LOL! My God! What the hell just happened?! Edit: I gotta get w/ that Instagram thingie. Alive She Cried - that is a ridiculously awesome drawing. Whoa.
  4. I can't wait for this game. I was ALL OVER Mario Paint back in the day. I wish you could mix n' match style types - like place 8-bit goombas in an HD Mario U world - but you can't. Only a single "style" per stage - they say it's 'cuz of physics issues. The kinds of Mario abilities / default gameplay depends on the stage aesthetic. Like, an 8-bit Mario (SMB1) can't do the spin attack from SMW. I'm okay w/ that - it makes sense, but still - I wish! At least you can link different styled stages to form a full world. I bet the sequel is gonna have the mix n' max dream delivered and I BET we gonna get SMB2 assets as DLC.
  5. I knew Farley had the done the original voice-work for Shrek, but I thought it'd stay forever sealed in the vaults. So cool to actually hear it! Thanks for that! I wanna take the audio and dub the actually movie and see how it would've played out.
  6. Hell yeah. The potential for an insane, unique horror movie is totally there. Hope they don't have greedy people in charge and it's just some shallow repackage for mass-market appeal. The fact that they removed Michael Bay from the equation is a good sign / start. It's gotta be bold and unapologetic. It's such a great concept. It'd be a shame to waste the opportunity to make something cinematically different. "Sleep. Those little slices of death - how I loathe them."
  7. The humor-thing, I think was a sign of the times and an Englund thing. I think it should stay that way - close that door. They should do a gritty remake, make Freddy twisted and evil - keep him a sexual deviant, have the audience be revolted. No jokes! No puns! No one-liners! If there are puns, they should be disturbing, crossing-the-line-with-censors, borderline NC-17 kinda stuff. Like, "God, what a sick fuck!" Cringe worthy stuff. Horrifying stuff. No 4th wall stuff. That's how I'd do it, though.
  8. I passionately love the Elm Street and Friday series. The Friday remake was great (which they are doing another remake - set for Friday the 13th 2016, RIP Betsy Palmer BTW). I'd welcome another Elm Street remake - if done right, of course. The last one wasn't blasphemous, it just didn't have bite. In the right hands, w/ todays fx, a film about an untouchable dreamscape killer might be a hell of a ride.
  9. Yeah - the whole theater loved him! They laughed whenever he said anything! I thought it was so weird. LOL - aaaand here come the facepalms! LOL
  10. Dumb and Dumber 2 hurt. The best part of that entire movie was the few seconds they had the Shaggin' Wagon back and they went slow-mo' after getting some air on that jump. A fleeting glimpse of what should and could have been. Crazy how these mega-hit / cult classic revisits are so horribly managed creatively. Hopefully Ben Stiller and everyone involved give a hoot. Abandon planet if they announce a Lebowski sequel.
  11. COOL! I can't wait to see what kind of..."references" they're gonna make concerning X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
  12. "I will never be good and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be, than me." I totally agree. It was a good movie, but the way it was advertised, you'd think there would be more involvement with real video game characters. On the bluray, there's a featurette hosted by Chris Hardwick (god, remember Singled Out?) who points out A LOT of the blink-and-miss easter eggs and cameos in the movie. I hear the sequel is going to focus on home consoles and Super Mario along w/ other classic video game characters are actually going to be a part of the story. This generation's Roger Rabbit? Them's some mighty words, my friend! LOL
  13. Got Monster House on bluray. That was a cool flick. I'll check out that Heatvision and Jack pilot. Sounds...I dunno, something I should just see. LOL UPDATE - I saw that pilot - it was great. "You're the bad guy from Time Cop!" LOL Weird to see Ben Stiller and those (now) big-name actors in a piece like that - before it was 'cool to be retro'. Totally got a Liquid Television vibe. I love stuff like that. It was cool, I wanted to see more. I'd love to be a part of the production of something 80s cliche-ridden like that. Write, act, shoot, cut - whatever. It looks like it'd be fun.
  14. I don't remember reading the book, but I do remember catching the movie on tv as a kid and having some vague familiarity with the story. It must've went over my head at the time. I've seen the movie dozens of times, usually aired around Christmas time back in the day. I waited for that DVD release...it's an animated Outland! Nicely done, totally feels like the strip is properly animated. Cool to see those characters moving and walking about. Robin Williams is in it! I see it in stores sometimes - dirt cheap, it's only like half an hour. You should definitely check it out. Dunno if it's on youtube or Netflix.
  15. The Dead Alewives? Gonna have to look that up, I have no idea what that is.
  16. That's so cool! My heart stopped when I saw Scud - I was like, HEY!
  17. Number one for me is Foxtrot. I loved, loved, loved the artwork. Just meticulous line-work. It and Garfield inspired and were a model for me as a kid learning to draw and developing a style. Of course, I naturally loved all the Nintendo and Star Wars references. I got Foxtrot: En Masse as a kid, and even as a lil' youngin' - I appreciated the fact that I could see the artist's style develop through the years in that collection. I studied that book. May not be as deep or thought-provoking as some other comics, but that one's my favorite.
  18. I got my copy of The Essential Calvin and Hobbes WAAAY back in the day. Insane love for the series. As a kid, I colored in A LOT of the black and white strips. Imagination fuel for a kid. Magical stuff.
  19. I got love for the series. I still have my book I bought as a kid back in '92. (I remember 'cuz the book was brand new and it leapt at me at the bookstore) Kept up with Outland till it's cancellation. I also got the: Opus n' Bill in A Wish For Wings That Work DVD.
  20. Looks like Tatum is back on as Gambit. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/channing-tatum-playing-gambit_55bd3b0be4b06363d5a271df
  21. Doesn't even look like you can buy the figures by themselves. They come in $25 Fun Packs. A character, a vehicle and an in-game stage. EDIT: Didn't mean to take it off topic - just responding to that LEGO comparison. They gettin' in on the market, too!
