True Blood has it beat on all counts with next to zero content piecing it all together. There's still a lot of money to be lost in telling most of your country their imaginary diety is the equivalent of a four year old with ants and a magnifying glass. Whatever comes of this, I figure they'll have a traumatised Texan minister find an artifact(alien/Celtic/Mormon) and charge himself with hunting an abstract concept or some form of 'Earthly representative' which would still allow the supporting cast to still be worked in, all for some slight something along the lines of 'killed his family','raped and murdered his wife' or 'vapourised his entire parish whom he had a complicated but enriching relationship with'.
Mind that this isn't what I want, this is just the arc my expectations take after years of pulled punches in the retelling of stories to tv/movies.
