Thelogan
Now, when you say you're reading all of Spider-Man, do you mean you're reading all of Amazing Spider-Man? Or are you gonna jump to Spectacular in the mid 70's and the vanilla book in the early 90's? What about Unlimited?

Thelogan
If he's SANE then he'll just be plowing through Amazing Spider-Man. Otherwise...he may have finally lost his marbles.

Iambaytor
Now, when you say you're reading all of Spider-Man, do you mean you're reading all of Amazing Spider-Man? Or are you gonna jump to Spectacular in the mid 70's and the vanilla book in the early 90's? What about Unlimited? I mean I am reading every canon Spider-Man book in (roughly) sequential order. Amazing, Spectacular, Sensational, Peter Parker, Spider-Man, Friendly Neighborhood, Untold Tales, Unlimited, and Avenging. I've even got Marvel Team-Up and Tangled Web. I've already read Ultimate up to Ultimatum and about 10 issues beyond, I read 3 pages of Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane and said "fuck this shit," and I'm saving 2099 for when I plow through that universe. I am currently at Issue #46 the first appearance of The Shocker. It's interesting seeing all the little details that Raimi culled from these issues and put in the movies and how the current version of Flash Thompson meshes perfectly with the original (aside from the whole "fighting in Vietnam" thing, but to be fair Reed Richards and Ben Grimm fought in World War 2.) Thelogan
Dude...did you learn nothing from Flaming Carrot? This endeavor will turn you into a lunatic. I'm fairly certain I read all of Amazing up to the early 80's when I was a kid. Then a random scattering of issues across the couple of titles from that decade until 1988 or so when i started getting new ones. Then I have another gap starting around 1997. I guess I forget people have actually never read those old books. I felt like I was practically required to. It was like homework to earn my new issues. Have you ever read Marvel Saga? It's cliff notes versions of early marvel stuff that would feature a few panels from an issue and then a PAGE of fucking text giving you the gist of everything that occurred, filling me with useless knowledge about the Inhumans and shit. It's like a sleeping pill. Now let us never speak of it again.
Iambaytor
UT! Seriously though, I wanted to know the full continuity and all the little tidbits plus it's getting harder and harder to claim he's my very favorite character when I've only read a small fraction of his books. Plus I'd like a nice idea of the highlights so I can give them to Ean when he gets older. I would never do this with say, Batman because Jesus fucking Christ. However I do plan to attempt the insanity that will no doubt be doing this with The X-Men.

Thelogan
Ha! Your kid will no doubt tell you that superheroes are "totally gay" as soon as he's physically able. Ahh, the grand planning of a human being. Those were the days.
Iambaytor
That's fine, I've got a pair of white cotton briefs currently marinating in ball sweat in preparation for being my only attire when I meet his homecoming date. Iambaytor
Replace Jack Burton, he's not really that useful, unless of course he's supposed to be the Mina Murray of this group.
