What's everyone think? Teaser's barely out the gates,and the political hate's already started. You couldnt write press this good if you had to.

That's right, that kind of thing is ok down in miami, but none of that bullshit up here in NY, no sir.

I mustve missed the kiddie porn level, then again i never finished any of these games, guess i missed out on that...?

 

Anyway, just wanted to hype the GTA fans here, since were all getting this one, except, you know, Nintendo (for now...). Also, could someone explain to me why Take 2 is having so much trouble? I thought these people had it made.

I firstly thought GTA IV was meant to be set in South America( I haven't seen the trailer yet), but this all sounds like it's what? Set in NYC? And Nick- in GTA3 one've the early missions entailed distribution of porn to gang members, specifically teens, which with enough word-dickery can be twisted to read as 'kids'.

It's weird, it looks like an almost exact representation of NY (in fact, with the music, I thought it was a trailer for a new Spidey game) but all the signs and such say Liberty City. Have they just given up completely on trying to disguise it?

 

I don't really see anything to get excited over just yet.

 

(also, exactly what in that trailer was adult content-y enough to require me to put in my birthdate?)

and no, theyre not showing too much, just that its gonna be beautiful, as expected. I had the same question as SB, myself. But thanks for the heads-up skeet...i mean, at least he's not totally pulling it out of his ass, but still, id say that's great press either way.

 

still wondering why take 2 is struggling with such franchises behind them...where's bishop?

Yeah, Just Cause was fun for about fifteen minutes.

 

And it does look beautiful, but...it's just a cinematic. Even the crappiest games have great looking cinematics these days. I have faith in Rockstar, they haven't let me down yet (I even liked Red Dead Revolver), but I'm going to wait until I see some actual gameplay before I start salivating.

fair enough, but you know how it is...every year, the hype machine starts earlier and earlier.

 

on what you said there: there's a lotta folks on kotaku and other sites, know that PS3 is getting a great lineup down the road, and argue that you cant predict anything game-wise, and to a point theyre right, but i think it discredits past works (not that you were doing this here, just venting) - you cant tell me MGS4, the next Silent Hill (assuming you dug the series thus far), the next Miyamoto project, etc will be a waste of $50 when the series has been solid for years upon years now. Every series has its, uh, DMC 2 or whatever but even the low points of series like Zelda are awesome games. i just dont follow that argument.

 

and yeah, i thought Red Dead Revolver was a lotta fun too, i just lost interest when i saw Gun, though the multi on that is sitll enjoyable.

New Orleans would be Leveeville or something. DC would be Capitol City. East St Louis would be, uh, I don't know.
