Thelogan
Yes. Yes it does. I was actually on board for the first couple of minutes. Awesome technique, well done, old man Bruce. Then it became a stereotypical abstract french art film. The Wolverine fight is there for no reason other than to have Wolverine there, and he's very poorly done. So yeah, very disappointing. It sucks, because the film maker is obviously a talented guy. I just wish he wouldn't have attempted to be "deep" when dealing with a guy dressed as a rodent and a little fella that scratches you with his nails. At least not in the vague way that it was approached. Jack Kirby's My Little Pony

Jables
Late to remark but nonetheless: is Ulimate marvel taking a leaf from DC's book and just relaunching everything for the sake of it now? I think that block of solicits up there has what must be the 3rd Spiderman relaunch and 2nd Xmen one. I heard that all the Avengers stuff post-Millar/Hitch at least stayed within the same continuity but with focus on different teams.

Thelogan
This thing is just chick full of gold. You have Stan Lee trolling the shit out of these guys. "A Liefeld character without shoulder pads is almost naked" McFarlane makes a joke about going to court over character rights and getting some fame out of it. McFarlane is almost too stupid to speak. The dude is seriously a wiffle ball. "I'm gunna give him like sum nukkles heer that R lyke steel glove nukkles" "The kids love wires on the legs. Give him some wires." "You gotta have a lotta chain". There's just too much silly shit for me to even quote. I earned some respect for Stan. He's basically patronizing them throughout the entire thing. It's like a "how to" video on creating lame, generic 90's comic book characters.
Thelogan
Towards the end of the 3rd part, Stan: "One thing I want to do real quick is tighten those feet." He knows their achilles heel! I'm surprised Leifeld didn't just draw a small hill in front of the guy.
Mr. Hakujin
Great find, Logans! So this was a straight-to-video series? I wonder if they were all this bad? This one really is only funny in hindsight, knowing what shit storm Image comics was waiting to unleash less than a year later. (Video was shot in '91 and Image first published in '92.) I wonder if the whole time Todd & Rob were doing this they knew they'd be forming their own company? Todd talking about chains was hilariously ironic. "The kids love chains." Thus Spawn. And, as I'm sure you know, this character is actually used in the Spawn comics. Liefeld is credited as creating the character (I guess b/c he did the main design), but he changed it to OverTkill. I suppose so Stan wouldn't sue him. And so right w/ STan's line @ the end about the feet. Notice Todd did the "tightening." I think Liefeld just drew more smoke. Thelogan
Rick Parker (you guys might know him as the artist on the Beavis & Butthead comic) is doing commissions of any comic book character for $100. You get the original black and white ink drawing and a full color print mailed to you. I'm seriously considering getting one, something nice to put on the wall. The first one was Batman and some guy got this. I'm just racking my brain thinking of a worthy character. Any great ideas?
