Hot off the heels of the big reveal that a TV pilot for Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. is moving forward “immediately,” the first details for the live-action project have been revealed via Joss Whedon! DCMarvelFreshman - 8/28/2012 News broke only hours ago that ABC are green-lighting a live-action TV series based on Marvel's peacekeeping organization, S.H.I.E.L.D., and the first details have been revealed via the pilot's co-writer & prospective director Joss Whedon. Moderating the Writers Guild Theater today, Variety quotes the filmmaker saying: “The storyline for the proposed series will be largely "autonomous" from the "Avengers" sequel feature. The series will revolve around the activities of the SHIELD org governing body for the superheroes featured in "Avengers.” As reported earlier, Whedon will direct the pilot, if his schedule allows it. And he's being credited as the co-writer alongside his brother, Jed Whedon & his wife Maurissa Tancharoen. And the Dollhouse trio are also serving as executive producers with Jeffrey Bell and Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb. Reverend Jax
Pancho, Loeb's involvement doesn't necessarily mean it will be terrible. I mean, hypothetically he might die before the production starts. Stay positive.

alive she cried
I believe this news is worthy of two gifs Oh and because Axel is too lazy Ever since we heard about Joss Whedon's S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show, we've been hoping against hope that Clark Gregg's Agent Coulson would appear, despite the events of The Avengers. At today's Marvel television panel, Joss Whedon and Kevin Feige announced that Clark Gregg will in fact be headlining S.H.I.E.L.D.. Here is the word from Comic Book Resources: "We all love Clark Gregg, there's no doubt about that," Whedon said. "From before we made 'The Avengers,' we discussed whether there was a way for him to be a part of the Marvel Universe, perhaps a part of a TV show even after his death. … The fact of the matter is, as much as we love him, now that I'm really running Marvel, I like to keep a type of artistic integrity, which means we don't stretch the bounds of reality." "There was never going to be a 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' show without Agent Phil Coulson!" said Feige, who appeared behind Whedon, wearing a COULSON LIVES shirt. "He's headlining the S.H.I.E.L.D. show and always was." said Whedon. Edited October 14, 2012 by alive she cried

alive she cried
Confirmed: S.H.I.E.L.D. TV Pilot Takes Place After MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS ABC President Paul Lee confirms that, despite speculation to the contrary and Agent Coulson seemingly dead, Joss Whedon's S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot will take place AFTER the events of Marvel's The Avengers. Hit the jump to read his comments. Paul Romano - 1/11/2013 After the apparent death of Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) in Marvel's The Avengers, many were very surprised to hear that Gregg will be playing the lovable character - who has previously appeared in Thor and the first two Iron Man films - once again for Joss Whedon's S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot for ABC. It was speculated that the potential series would be a prequel to The Avengers, and then there were the various theories of how the character could be resurrected (Gregg mentioned "life model decoys" last fall when his casting was confirmed). Now, speaking with IGN, ABC President Paul Lee was asked how Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. would tie into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he reveals that the pilot (which has yet to be picked up for a full series) will actually take place after the final battle in The Avengers. "There is no question that it is part of the Marvel Universe. In fact, the story takes place after the battle for New York." Despite its connection to the MCU, Lee reiterates that it's more stand-alone. "This is S.H.I.E.L.D. They’re following their own particular stories. There are characters in it, Coulson, who clearly comes from Avengers. So it’s part of the world, but we’re going to be very, very careful that we don’t tread on the toes of the features and build a whole new world. And that’s what Joss Whedon does better than anybody else. He’s built a world for us." Additionally, when asked about the possibility of introducing certain Marvel characters on the series if picked up, Lee remains optimistic. "I think if we’re lucky enough to have a great series, we’re obviously having fun with that. At this point though, we have a number of characters at the heart of the script who are real characters, who are the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and the first task is to make those guys great and relatable and everything that a great show needs. Beyond that, fingers crossed!" Filming on the Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot will begin next week, with hopes to air on ABC this Fall. alive she cried
And Whedon on the series Filming for the S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show should start filming “A week from Tuesday. You have to bring a bit of spectacle to [s.H.I.E.L.D.]; it's got to be bigger than your average cop show,” he said. “But at the end of the day, it's about the peripheral people. It's about the people on the edges of the grand adventures. The whole point of the show is that even with all these big things, the little things matter. It's about people who don't have super powers. There will be some people with powers, there will be FX, and there will be the spectacle of science-fiction storytelling — but all played on a very human, small level. That's the appeal of the thing.” Read more at http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/MarvelFreshman/news/?a=72507#kzVaTmIDwBut6RxD.

alive she cried
After months of secrecy surrounding the Joss Whedon-directed pilot, ABC Network has provided a synopsis for the S.H.I.E.L.D. TV drama, revealing its new title, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Also providing vague story details, check out the synopsis below and expect a one-hour run time. Joss Whedon (MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) shows us not all heroes are super with MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Fresh from his role in the summer’s box office smash, MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS, Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) returns to the worldwide law enforcement organization S.H.I.E.L.D. He puts together a small, highly trained, team of Agents to tackle the cases that haven’t been classified yet, the new, the strange and the unknown. That team consists of straight arrow Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), an expert in combat and espionage; pilot and martial artist Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen); and brilliant if socially awkward scientists Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge). They’ll be joined by civilian new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet). Prepare for an epic adventure that showcases the hope and wonder of the human spirit. This is a world of Super Heroes, aliens and the unusual – of action, spectacle and world spanning stories. The show will speak to the human condition through the lens of our very human, non-powered S.H.I.E.L.D agents – that together we are greater than we are apart, and that we can make a difference in the world. Executive Produced and co-written by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen (Dollhouse, Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog), Jeffrey Bell (Angel, Alias) and Jeph Loeb (Smallville, Lost, Heroes) comes Marvel’s first live-action TV series, MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Here's how they describe the show. Why we like it: An action-packed thrill ride that resurrects Agent Coulson (Gregg) and introduces Ming-Na as a steely new agent? Count us in!
