Mr. Hakujin
Lightsabers + JJ Abrams = lens flare overload Let the photoshops commence. According to multiple trade reports, Abrams, 46, is set to direct the next installment of "Star Wars," which Disney has said will be "Episode 7" and due out in 2015. Disney bought "Star Wars" maker Lucasfilm last month for $4.06 billion... He is the second big name associated with the new "Star Wars" films to be launched under the Disney umbrella. Late last year, Lucasfilm confirmed that Michael Arndt, who wrote "Little Miss Sunshine" and "Toy Story 3" would pen the screenplay for "Episode 7." Iambaytor
Was that another lens flare joke? I can only assume he'll be doing the StarCraft movie. P.S. I know it wasn't a lens flare joke. Edited January 25, 2013 by Iambaytor

Iambaytor
Nah, it's gotta start with Star, not just have it in the title.

Mr. Hakujin
I'd like to see a 3 yr old be able to hit the major points of any of the prequels. Let's hope Abrams takes the lead of 1970s and not 1990s George Lucas.
spiffytee
That first link is calling jj Jar Jar Abhrams... lol. good to see lucas isn't writing, but supposedly he's a consultant. can't seem to get rid of him even after 4 billion dollars. I think it's at least a step in the right direction.

Mr. Hakujin
New and IImproved Baytor! Now with sarcasm. That strategy worked well for the LOTR and Harry Potter franchises. I'm concerned w/ the quality of material w/ these new SW films though. This guy has some bitchin' ideas.
Reverend Jax
I am highly skeptical of any movie starring young Han. How the fuck do you cast that role?

Mr. Hakujin
When Han Met Chewie, who wouldn't want to see that film? Just make it a CGI Harrison Ford. James Cameron can do it.

Lord of the Rings was all filmed at once and Harry Potter was based on a popular book franchise that was already written ahead of time. They have to write and cast and make a new Star Wars movie every single year. That is not an easy thing to do.
C_U_SPACECOWBOY
That strategy worked well for the LOTR and Harry Potter franchises. Yes, but both series based on already established source material. They are setting a pretty tight release schedule on stories that don't even exist yet. .....uh, what Baytor said. Now whether those movies will be worth a damn, to me, seems reeeeally unlikely.

Mr. Hakujin
Lord of the Rings was all filmed at once and Harry Potter was based on a popular book franchise that was already written ahead of time. They have to write and cast and make a new Star Wars movie every single year. That is not an easy thing to do. Have to? Man they get to do that. There's enough SW material already out there for great films and you know every fanboy screenwriter has been working on the SW sequels in their mind since they saw ROTJ. Now whether Disney uses that source material is a good question, but saying the material doesn't exist or needs to be created from scratch is wrong. If all else fails, Disney can give Patton Oswalt a case of energy drinks and lock him in a room w/ a laptop and a camera.
Iambaytor
Yea fan fiction should make for great movies. Especially when the effects are rushed. Edited April 20, 2013 by Iambaytor
