the division of joy Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Something for 2track sucks about the lack of screech
Acalis Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 The movie sucked, but the poster was awesome in my opinion.
Acalis Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 I'm with that... a deep space 9 movie would be kinda cool. It could be "Star Trek: Deep Space 9 - The Search for Sisko." Make it a united movie, with characters from all 3 serieses 9TNG, DS9, and Voyager). Meanwhile, another cool movie poster:
CjDucky Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 That's a lousy version of the second one. I recall the colors and contrast being a lot better in person. SB.. youre right about the colors... i actually have this poster form the theater hanging in my living room... i also have a bunch more i need to get frames for....
MusicManiac Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 ...if it's in the living room you are either single or have a cool ass chick... can't tell you the last time I HUNG ANYTHING in the living room that I wanted up...
CjDucky Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 ...if it's in the living room you are either single or have a cool ass chick... can't tell you the last time I HUNG ANYTHING in the living room that I wanted up... Well.. as Silent Bob and Ruby's Angel both know... im not single.. so.... I am allowed one movie poster in the living room.. thats the only one i have framed.. so its automatically elected right now.. i have Sin City or a poster of Yoda from Episode II that Id love to put up... and i have a bunch of others... i just have to go through them again since ive forgotten what i have... And btw... my chick has a hot ass... at least i think she does....
crimsonfire Posted August 7, 2007 Author Posted August 7, 2007 This was pretty cool thread and deserves resurrection. I know its only recent but the poster is just so cool. Very minimal but effective. I have a double-sided one in my room. One side for optimus (protect) the other for megatron (destroy).
Silent Bob Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 It kinda reminds me of the cover to Preacher: War in the Sun. And speaking of comic-looking posters, how about this one? Becomes:
Dark Kaniggit Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 Still one of the best. it captures the spirit and the time frame of the movie 1930's art deco Hollywood. www.the-reel-mccoy.com/movies/1999/images/insider_poster.jpg One of the all time classics. Designed by an artist named Saul Bass. He also designed the beggining credits for the movie, along with all its typography.
Silent Bob Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 That's one of my favorite movie posters of all time. Sadly, it's kinda hard to find now.
Dark Kaniggit Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 You can find it in reprint fairly cheap, originals cost thousands!
Dark Kaniggit Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 The poster alone makes you not want to enter the water. This one is fairly new, but it is excellent! They made 4 posters for this movie, but this with the old feel is my favorite!
crimsonfire Posted August 9, 2007 Author Posted August 9, 2007 That one is very similar to the art in the graphic novel. Looks a bit like the James Bond strips youd see in the paper.
Silent Bob Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Now for the record, I like all these posters, but has anyone else noticed a trend in Tom Cruise movie posters? Why don't we just put him on a coin and be done with already?
Dark Kaniggit Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Here is a true master of Movie poster design, Saul Bass And if you wondering what else he has designed, check out his work behind him!
soldier of fortune Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Dk has a thing for Tom Cruise... interesting!!!!
