Lycaon Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 There's been quite a few GoT theme covers, but this one combines the two best I've heard. Very cool. <object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OWQXQgHgq8?version=3"><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OWQXQgHgq8?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OWQXQgHgq8?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object> Pretty damn awesome. TulipO Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 The fifth book will be mine on Weds. I totally disagree about The Millenium Triology. Its really a 3 part story about how the state and ruling interests fuck with/supress the media. In the age of Wiki-leaks thought that was pretty rad. Quote
alive she cried Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 How have I not commented on this yet? HBO have fucking done it yet again, this's up there with The Sopranos, Deadwood and The Wire. Unbefuckinglievable, me and Choose Life were on the edge of our seats at the end to episdoe 9. We can't wait for season 2. Oh also these 1 Quote
Mr. Hakujin Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Oh that is brilliant! Rolf Baratheon is just gold. You or your brother plan on reading any of the books, ASC? Quote
Lorelei Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 not a spoiler but book 1 is exactly the same as the series, i wouldn't bother - go straight to book 2 Quote
TulipO Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Anyone else finish book 5 yet? Also, some good casting on Season 2 so far! Stephen Dillane as Stannis... Quote
Mr. Hakujin Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 (edited) not a spoiler but book 1 is exactly the same as the series, i wouldn't bother - go straight to book 2 Yeah, I'm basically skimming around book 1 trying to get mainly the info that was omitted from the series; such as how Dinerys & her brother escaped Westeros. The producers/creators of the HBO series did an extremely fine job of adapting the book. Again, I'll cite the intro of Dany to Drogo as an example (since I just finished reading that part of the book). Drogo in the book was much more materialistic and had more opulence than Drogo in the series, but the key moments and (surprisingly) lines of dialogue are all there in the series. This is the first GRR Martin novel I've read, and I must say I enjoy his writing style. Looking forward to reading the rest of the Song of Fire & Ice series. Edited July 27, 2011 by Mr. Hakujin Quote
the division of joy Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Anyone else finish book 5 yet? Also, some good casting on Season 2 so far! Stephen Dillane as Stannis... Liam Cunningham is cast too, which pleases me. Good ol' Irish actor there. Quote
Mr. Hakujin Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 It's like Lilith Fair and a Renaissance Fair had a baby and it sang a song... Quote

TulipO Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 So i finished the 5th book--grrrrowl. Too many fucking cliff hangers for a story that still has about 2000 pages to go! I just re-watched the first season On Demand too. Serious addiction at this point. Everytime a cold wind blows Tim and I look at eachother and one of us says "Winter is coming..." Its getting ridiculous. Quote
Aartemys Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 A little late on this, but Ben & I started watching the series tonight... I like it so far and am considering getting the books just because it seems I would like it. Quote
Benz Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Aarty and I have seen the first 2 episodes so far. Awesome! Also yay for HBO GO! Quote
Mr. Hakujin Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Also of note, Peter Dinklage got the Emmy for supporting actor for playing Tyrian Lannister. I say Dinklage is the new pwnage. Who's with me?!!?! Quote
Thelogan Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Aw, look at that cute wittle mic they got for him. That's courtesy, right there. Quote
Mr. Hakujin Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 (edited) Would it be in poor taste for them to make him an Emmy to scale? Edited September 28, 2011 by Mr. Hakujin Quote
Lycaon Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 (edited) MODOKLAGE pic Edited September 28, 2011 by Mr. Hakujin Srsly, Ly? Srsly? I feel your pain, Nick. Quote
Mr. Hakujin Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Why the sad face, Ly? MODOKLAGE is win! Quote
Lycaon Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 When season two starts, those of you that haven't read the books will realize just how satisfying this is. Quote
Mr. Hakujin Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 This new "in production" vid reminded me I still need to finish book one of this damned series. I think after watching Walking Dead this season I've realized I'll probably enjoy the show more not knowing what's come in the novels. So I'll likely wait to see S2 before attempting to read book two. Quote
