New Doctor Who!

_40899317_drwho_203.jpg

This torrent is apparantly the first episode of the new Doctor Who (or as the Belgians call him, Dr. Qui) with Christopher Eccleston.

BBC News doesn't seem to know how the episode got online, on their news site they reported:

It is unclear how it came to be on the web and whether it is the final cut. The BBC was unavailable for comment.

Wait a second, you are the BBC, just go upstairs and ask them you lazy bastards. Dubious, I suspect it was leaked by the management.

{torrent in the zip file if the link doesn't work.}

Christopher Eccleston is the new Dr Who? And I always thought he was an ass'ole...

Get out of my house!

Now!

Scoot!

Anyway anyone have luck with the torrent? I woke up in the morning and it was stuck at 3 percent (what, you didn't think I actually tested this one did you?) but then my internet connection has the annoying habbit of craping out overnight.

If anyone has any doubts about the new series (and I did, and I'm not even a big fan of the origonal series) I actually sought out these the torrent based on a generaly mixed but mostly positive review by Warren Ellis.

Well, it’s better than that brainless monstrosity of a TV movie that poor old Paul McGann battled through

And, for the comics readers in the audience, that is indisputably a Bryan Hitch-designed TARDIS interior.

Christopher Eccleston, as the Doctor, is a delight. I imagine he’ll settle down as the series progresses, but right now he’s a walking mood-swing – Tom Baker’s mad grin and sudden command, Jon Pertwee’s physicality, Patrick Troughton’s impish side. And he’s got a great old leather jacket. He keeps his Northern accent, and when his new assistant asks him why he sounds Northern when he’s an alien, writer Russell Davies gives him the fine line: “LOTS of planets have a North!”

'Friday' horror draws Tarantino

Quentin Tarantino is considering writing and directing a new installment in the long-running "Friday the 13th" series. Tarantino is in early talks with New Line Cinema, where he is scheduled to meet with executives this week. The original "Friday," released in 1980 and featuring the hockey-masked killer Jason Voorhees, spawned a series of sequels, including the 2003 hit "Freddy vs. Jason," in which Jason squared off against Freddy Krueger from the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series. New Line tried to make a sequel to "Freddy vs. Jason" involving the "Evil Dead" character Ash, but a deal with "Dead" rights holder Sam Raimi couldn't be reached. According to those familiar with the discussions, Tarantino is intrigued with the idea of playing with one of the movie's classic horror villains. If the project does develop, it could be the first film Tarantino directs outside Miramax Films. The WMA-repped filmmaker recently signed on to direct the season finale of CBS' "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."

McGregor Too Young for 'Trainspotting II'

Fans of cult movie Trainspotting will have to wait another decade for director Danny Boyle's follow-up - because the original cast aren't old enough yet. Despite Moulin Rouge star Ewan McGregor's reported reluctance to reprise his role in a sequel to the 1995 junkie movie that launched his career - Boyle is convinced he can assemble the original cast, which also includes Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle. But Boyle wants his leads to be "middle-aged casualties of the pleasure culture" and they are still too young - the movie-maker tells the New York Post. So he will wait until McGregor, Miller, Carlyle and castmate Ewan Bremner are suitably scarred by "the ravages of time". He complains, "Actors like to put out the PR that they're living a wild life in night clubs, but really they're tucked up in bed early with their moisturizer on," Boyle said.

I assume he's talking about adapting the book, Porno by Irvine Welsh. Really recommend that book, I liked it even more than Trainspotting. The story is great, can't wait to see what Danny Boyle does with it.

I'm pissed that theres no commentary. The mini-coms on the south park episodes and the commentary on Cannibal! The Musical are the best. Damn Matt and Trey.... :D

Also since it aint gonna happen 'cause of Surley Sam Raimi, bloody disgusting put the treatment for Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash up here this woulda been the goods. Once more :D

Just finished watching that Doctor Who episode, I enjoyed it. I have no idea why anyone would dislike Christopher Eccleston. He's a lot of fun to watch most of the time. The old and basic crappy effects have been brought up to date, now we have much more technologically advance crappy affects. Tupperware on fishing line unconvincing? Well now CGI can produce equally unconvincing monsters!

I'm hoping that this is an unfinished copy of the episode, but it's good all the same.

Bear in mind it is really very silly. And I grant you a couple of bits are genuinely terrible.

I sat through a whole damn O.C. episode to watch the trailer's first appearence on tv. And then they played it at the end. How depressing was that?

Was worth every minute of bad yankee drama though. It looks mad cool. The fight scene between Vader and Obi-wan is gonna be the shiz.
