I'll also defend George of the Jungle as it really wasn't a lot stupider than the old show and better than the new one, it was stupid but it was also aimed at 8-year-olds. Iambaytor Posted April 15, 2011 Share Posted April 15, 2011 They're all "of the Planet of the Apes" though, that's the theme (even the one that didn't feature a single goddamn ape), they also probably did it because it's not an obvious Conquest of the Planet of the Apes remake so they're avoiding having the LCD crowd send them a million "UR RIPPING OFF PLANET OF TH APES!!!" emails. Yes Logan, it was terrible but so was the TV show and if the adaptation is at least as good if not better that's okay. (Admittedly the Marvel comics were vastly better than both but I fear I shall never see Simon Furman adapted to the big screen) However, Rise of the Fallen was bullshit, it was so terrible that I saw it in theaters and I honestly don't even remember how it ended and was obviously not excited for any continuation. Then Michael Bay just out of nowhere decided to give me this shit: Â Â I wasn't sold until I saw the action scenes and, here's the kicker... I CAN ACTUALLY SEE WHAT'S HAPPENING! That didn't even happen once in Revenge of the Fallen, where every battle was like watching the T-1000 have sex with Alex Mack. (I do remember Optimus Prime's creepy fetish with taking faces though) Also I didn't see the Jim Crowe twins anywhere, though maybe Bay just had the sense to flat out kill them this time. However, I will remind everyone that I saw the trailer for Star Wars Episode 1 too, and I know trailers tell dirty dirty lies. Still this actually makes me want to see it in a movie theater, not a redbox copy, so that's something. Â Also: Sam's New Girlfriend.... what is wrong with her face? Her lips look like she just got out of a boxing match where somebody punched her in the mouth repeatedly. It's like if post-surgery Goldie Hawn and Mickey Rourke could somehow make a baby that combined their horrible visages. I'm just going to call her Ugly-Megan Fox for the time being.
