Iambaytor
finally saw Death at a Funeral. Cant believe i waited so long to see it, it was funny as hell too I can't wait to see Black Death at a Black Funeral: The Blackening. I seriously don't understand why they're remaking an English film just to Blackula it. Edited April 5, 2010 by Iambaytor
Mr. Hakujin
Saw Clash of the Titans with Pedro and Amber. Pedro said it was pretty bad, Amber said it was almost as bad as Kull the Conqueror (Harsh). Me, maybe it's just because I love the original movie so much, but I saw nothing especially wrong with it. It was what the original one was, a string of monster battles with a bunch of boring talky parts in-between. It was very much in the spirit of a Ray Harryhausen movie and everything was pretty much the same even if the sub-plot about Persius hating the gods was unnecessary as well as a few other things (what are Djinns doing in a movie about Greek mythology?) and Sam Worthington is about 1/100th the actor that Harry Hamlin is. It certainly wasn't all that great but a lot better than most of the big budget fantasy cash-ins over the last few years (Beowulf comes to mind.) Did you see it in 3D? We were making fun of the cheezy 3D gags throughout the whole film. I don't know why they had to make it a "team effort" either. I'm leaning more towards Pedro's take, but I'll call it "not that good." Definitely not even close to matching the original in my book. I purposefully avoided 3D due to a combination of my love of having money and the fact that it wasn't at all filmed for 3D. Any 3D gags were done by the post-production 3D conversion team that had nothing to do with the people who actually visually designed the movie. The bit with the owl was nice. Mr. Hakujin
^^Well said, sir. I could've easily saved $10 by avoiding the 3D, but the all too brief Craken sequence was pretty good in 3D. And the line w/ the owl was the (intentionally) funniest one in the film.

Iambaytor
That and Prince of Darkness are two of John Carpenter's most under-rated movies and it always pleases me when I see someone enjoyed one. (Plus, hey. You can never go wrong with Sam Neill)

Keth
saw the Black Death at a Funeral. there really is no point in seeing it if you've already seen the first one, cause its basically the exact same movie. But I like chris rock and tracy morgan so I found it just as funny.
Mr. Hakujin
Saw KICK-ASS today. A lot less bloody than I anticipated and they changed a few things for the protagonist so it worked out more Hollywood, but said change did lead to at least two laugh out-loud moments for me--so no complaints on my part. Overall a B+ for me.
