Jont
What a fucking scam.
Silent Bob
The official, high-quality English version of the Casino Royale trailer. Goddamn that looks good. I agree the Star Wars thing is a fuckin' scam. If they wanted to include the original versions, they should have included them in the big boxed set they released last year and be done with it. Look for next September to have all six films in one box, remastered with better dialogue, no Hayden Christiansen and with loads of never before-seen extras. MusicManiac
What a jip. What's worse is that die-hards are gonna eat this shit up... myself included.
Silent Bob
Well I ain't. Hell, aside from Greedo, I actually prefer the new cuts better anyway. Let's face it, we all know that Cloud City looked like shit in Empire, that the big ice creature attack was one of the worst edited "action" scenes in the history of film, that Mos Eisly looked like two huts and a couple of sticks instead of a bustling space port and that the Ewok song at the end of Jedi was balls. Why buy the dvds again when all you're getting is less movie?
Jont
Well if you feel you've already paid enough for the movies you could always just download the origonals in DVD quality as a curiousity. Really, these should have been included with the other DVD editions. If Lucas still wants to capitalise on this he should release that Christmas special. Reverend Jax
I can't believe Bond fans are pessimistic about this one, did they see Die Another Day?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-6RmGqe8rc...casino%20royale The reason is simple. I'm not sure what actually happened with this scripts, but the initial reports said it was not based on the book of the same name. So, the last Bond book by Fleming that was still unadapted (for who know what reason), after Fleming was dead, was going to be adapted, but it was actually a different story. They just wanted the name, which meant there would be little hope for a real Casino Royale adaptation. Combine that witht he fact that most Fleming fans thought Casino Royale was the best Bond book on a character level. I haven't followed the news, so I don't know if it's still not based ont eh novel or if they changed gears and made it based on the book, but that created the initial bad word of mouth, long before this new guy was cast. Plus, while Connery is still considered the best Bond, Bronson was considered by most the best since Connery. There's bound to be a concern with a new guy. Jont
As optimistic as I am about Craig, I do believe Brosnan should have got a chance to give the character the send off he deserved. And I get what you say, I can understand the scepticism of fans of the Bond novels, but after invisible cars and fighting a Caurean in an electric mech-suit things can only get better. Iambaytor
The Brosnan years were yawn inspiring to me, I've never been so bored while watching things explode. This is the first time I've ever been excited about a Bond film (seeing as all the Connery ones came out before I was born) and I like the way it looks. I've got high hopes for this movie. Jont
The Brosnan Bonds got progressivly worse, but least we forget: GOLDENEYE!
Silent Bob
First of all, Casino Royale was actually the first Bond novel to be adapted to the screen. It was adapted for a tv show in the 50s (as I recall, Peter Lorre played the main villain) and again as the god-awful spoof of the same name, though only the Peter Sellers sequence had anything to do with the book. As a Bond fan, I've been following this project for a while and it seems to be this script has always been pretty heavily based off the book (heavily for a Bond film means about 50% of it comes straight from the book) moreso than most any other Bond movie, in fact. If the internet backlash were really about the script it wouldn't bother me so much, but every complaint I've heard has been about Craig and how he's "not Bond material". Frankly, I think it's bullshit, I think Craig is a near-perfect actor to play the Bond character. The sad thing is most of these complaining "fans" want their Bond movies flashy and cheesy and slick and...well...Die Another Day and they don't want to see a realistic, grittier Bond. I think this one has the potential to be one of the best Bond films since Connery was in the tux. Oh and speaking of Connery, I'm fuckin' sick of the damn "no one will ever be Bond but Connery" line. He hasn't played the role in more than 20 years, and let's be honest, he practically slept through half of the ones he was in (have all these Connery fans ever even seen You Only Live Twice or Diamonds Are Forever?)! Let it go! Not any of you. Just people in general.
Reverend Jax
While the Bronson Bond movies did get progressively worse, Bronson was always great as Bond, it's just the production got slicker at the expense of the substance. Not hsi fault. I remember he usually fought it. Personnally, I'm psyced.
The NZA
aw, i liked You Only Live Twice, but yeah Diamonds are Forever was kinda crap. Didnt even watch Die Another Day, cause i was so let down by the one before that. I dug Michelle Yeoh in Tomorrow Never Dies, at least. kinda excited bout this one. ps Moore doesnt get enough credit. Silent Bob
If anyone doesn't get enough credit, it's Dalton, I think.
Drifter
I agree. Dalton was one of my favouite Bonds; the angry, pissed off, out for blood, kill you with but a look Bond.

bishopcruz
Gah, the trailer was better than I expected, but I can't be the only one who doesn't give a tinker's piss about Ghost Rider, I'm almost over the whole comic book movie thing at this point anyway, As for Bond, I have hopes, anything has to be better than Die Another Day, I SLEPT THROUGH that film, literally. It was that bad.
archangel
Timothy Dalton never happened. It was a fluke; a ripple in Time (the perps have all already been taken out and shot).
